Emergency lighting
Eemergency lighting is a means of secondary illumination that must be provided
immediately, when the power supply to the normal lighting fails, the minimum backup duration of the emergency lighting is specified by local regulations and is generally between 1 and 3 hours. All our units have a 3¡ª3.5 hour internal battery, self-contained emergency lighting and fire exit signs are classified according to their modes of operation.
Emergency lights and emergerncy lighting provides lighting in corridors, stairwells, ramps, escalators, aisles, and exit passageways during power outages. If your emergency lights fail to operate properly, the building occupants can become disoriented.
Testing Procedures for Emergency Lights
90 Minute full function test
Disconnect AC power supply to each emergency light
Check battery and lens for sulfation
Clean each emergency light and lens as required
Adjust beam for proper alignment
Place Testing Label on the emergency light and Record in Testing Log
Troubleshooting/repair may also include
Checking and adjusting charging system voltage
Checking battery output voltage
Check line voltage to remote fixtures
