Development History of Galvanized Wire Gabions:
As same as paper making and gunpowder, the galvanized
wire gabion is originated from China. In pre-Qin period more than 2, 000 years ago, Chinese people built the world famous Dujiang Weir across Minjiang River. This project adopted a large amount of gabion weaved by bamboo for water retaining. This is the earliest rudiment of galvanized wire gabions in the world till now.
In 1500s in Britain, the first galvanized wire gabion was wicker basket filled with earth which was applied as artillery shield in military field. In 1600s in Japan, people used galvanized wire gabions in flood control engineering at the earliest. In the beginning of 18th century, Italia began to use bag type galvanized gabions for embankment repairing and reinforcement.
Modern galvanized wire gabions use galvanized steel wire to weave mesh rectangular cages which are filled with stone or natural pebbles as various water control engineering and wash prevention buildings.
Weaving Methods of Galvanized Wire Gabions:
Galvanized wire gabion weaving divided into mechanical and manual weaving.
Manual weaving features low speed and undistributed meshes, inconvenient for large-scale production.
Mechanical weaving has distributed meshes, high speed and high efficiency 50 times of manual weaving, suitable for large-scale production. The galvanized wire gabions of Haochang Gabion Factory adopt double-twisted hexagonal wire mesh (diameter 2.00mm-4.00mm) weaved by advanced machines at home and abroad. To improve the structural strength of the cages, every cage is divided into 1m intervals in average and installed with clapboards. In addition, in the process of weaving every mesh sheet, the diameter of the edge wire is one specification thicker than the twisted longitude and latitude wires to improve the firmness of the sheets.
All the design conforms to national standard and the quality is perfect.
