In telecommunication, an optical switch is a switch that enables signals in optical
fibers or integrated optical circuits (IOCs) to be selectively switched from one circuit to another. A fiber magneto-optical switch is presented by using a fiber coupler and magnetic fluids. By controlling the coupling ratio of the coupler related with magnetic fluid refractive index, the optical switch function can be carried out.
