Usually commercial LiNbO3 from consensus melt fractions were grown by Czochralski method out of the 0.946, molar ratio of lithium niobate. In LiNbO3 there are a lot of intrinsic defects, such as lithium vacancies, anti-site Nb, caused by space charge carrier traps, easy to be captured, resulting in photoconductive small, optical storage slow write. In large volume holographic storage reuse process, after writing an image, the image is easy to erase has been deposited at the same time, longer time to write, easy to form the optical damage, is very disadvantageous to the large-scale storage. So growth intrinsic nearly stoichiometric defects less than or stoichiometric LiNbO3 becomes material workers generally.
