4. Heat Treatment
a. The material shall be heat treated by the manufacturer to conform to the tensile and hardness requirements of A 514 by heating to not less than 1650 F [900 C], quenching in water or oil and tempering at not less than 1150 F [620 C]. The heat-treating temperatures shall be reported on the test certificates
b. The requirements for fine austenitic grain size in Specification A 6/A 6M shall be met.

Yield Strength : min 620-690Mpa

6. Mechanical Requirements
Tension Test:it should conform to the requirements of Tensile properties.
Hardness Test: For plates 10 mm and under in thickness, a Brinell hardness test may be used instead of
tension testing each plate
8. Application Fields: This material covers quenched and tempered alloy steel plates of structural quality in thicknesses 150mm and under intended primarily for use in welded bridges and other structures.
9. Trade Terms: FOB, CFR, CIF, CNF.
