A 516 steel grade, have two adopt standard, one is ASTM and ASME but the property the same in two adopt standard. Gangsteel supply steel grade, ASTM A516 Grade 70 and ASME SA516 Grade 70.
Gangsteel company could supply steel in ASME and ASTM. In this, we noted in A 516 ASTM standard.
A516 steel specification covers carbon steel plates intended primarily for service in welded pressure where improved notch toughness is important.
About the referenced documents: A 20/ A20M, A 435/A435M, A 577/A577M, A 578/A578M.
The maximum thickness of A 516 is limited only by the capacity of the composition to meet the specified mechanical property requirement. However, our mill current practice normally limits the maximum thickness of plate furnished under this specification as following:
A 516 Grade 70 Max thickness 205mm
A 516 Grade 65 Max thickness 205mm
A 516 Grade 60 Max thickness 205mm
A 516 Grade 55 Max thickness 305mm
Gangsteel also could supply the HIC test in A 516 Gr70 steel plates, HIC tested pressure vessel steel is commonly found in sour gas applications and is particularly suitable for the fabrication of pressure equipment where wet H2S can be a problem due to the long term presence of hydrogen supplied.
Other post production tests can be performed on ASTM A516 either at the mill or by a third party testing house.
