Spiral wound gasket are manufactured from a v-shaped metal strip, spirally wound with
an inlay of filler. Spiral wound gaskets are available in both standard and no-standard designs.
Application:
Widely applied in static sealing parts of technological pipelines, and the equipments of many industries, such as petroleum refining, petroleum chemistry, chemistry, thermal electricity, nuclear energy, spaceflight, spinning, medicine and other industries

W202J Spiral winding only(Basic type wound gasket)
This style of gasket consists of the winding /sealing element only. It has no guide ring(center ring) or inner ring. It is most commonly used in tongue, groove, and male/female flanges.
W202N Spiral winding with inner ring
This gasket is similar to the basic type spiral wound gasket, however, it has an inner ring. Solid inner metal ring acts as a compression stop and fills the annular space between flange bore and the inside diameter. Designed to prevent accumulation of solids, reduce turbulent flow of process fluids and minimize erosion of flange faces. It is suitable for male and female pipe flanges
W202W Spiral winding with outer guide
It is the most common profile fo spiral wound gasket and used extentively in AHSI B16.5 flanges. The gaskets consist of a metal guide ring( or snething referred to as a center ring) and a spiral wound sealing element. This profile is normally used in raised and flat faced flanges. The outer ring is often made of carbon steel(painted or zinc plated to prevent corrosion) but can be made fo alloys for higher temperature and more severe medium application.
W202L With outer guide and inner ring
This gasket is identical to spiral wound gasket with outer ring, however an inner ringhas been inserted to enhance gasket performance.The inner ring is added to prevent the possibility of the gasket imploding into the pipe during installation, to protect the sealing element from extreme temperatures and medium, fill the void between flanges to prevent erosion of the flange, and to reduce the possibility of failure. The inner ring is normally made of the same alloy as the winding. The DIN2699 standard(German) specifies inner rings in all spiral wound gaskets. Inner rings are required for gasket with PTFE filler according to ASME B 16.20 standards, and considered inportant for graphite fillers. This profile is normally used in raised and flat faced flanges.
