WinDNA
Since 1996, Windows Dynamic Network Access – WinDNA® – gives clinicians easy and immediate access to more information and more functions from the patient's bedside.
WinDNA is available as an option on Spacelabs Medical's Ultraview 1700 bedside monitor and is standard on the Ultraview SL 2800.
WinDNA allows clinicians to view and control Windows applications right on the patient monitor's display, eliminating the need for separate terminals in the patient's room.
Nurses can check lab results and other reports, enter orders, review protocols, and do charting right at the patient's bedside.
Input can be done using the mouse, keyboard, and touch-screen.
Improving efficiency and accuracy is a primary goal of WinDNA.
In an environment where every step you walk to a central terminal takes its toll in time and effort by the end of a shift, access to information at the patient's bedside is essential. In addition, information is used while it is fresh in your mind.
WinDNA is based on Citrix application server technology.
Spacelabs was an early adopter of this technology and understands it well.
A Citrix thin-client, embedded in the monitor, allows the user to launch applications installed on the Citrix server that your hospital may already own and manage.
There is no requirement to buy the server from Spacelabs.
This architecture allows you to maximize the investment you have already made in Citrix technology.
Spacelabs monitors use Citrix's highly efficient ICA protocol over your hospital's existing network infrastructure, further maximizing the value of your investment.
WinDNA is a step-saving, time-saving, information tool — right at the bedside.
Flexport Device Interfaces
Clinicians today have more sources of information than ever before. Yet these different sources of information can be a hindrance at the bedside if the data cannot be correlated, compared, documented, and responded to in the event of an alarm. Spacelabs Medical's Flexport allows clinicians to interface any compatible device with the patient monitor and monitoring system—unifying information, easing documentation, and enhancing alarm response.
Any device manufacturer can work with Spacelabs Medical to incorporate the Universal Flexport protocol into their device and can provide these capabilities to hospitals and clinicians. Flexport interfaces also facilitate the use of automated patient charting systems by providing integration of data from the patient's bedside.
Charting Vitals with "Vital Signs Interface"
The Vital Signs Interface links seamlessly to your Clinical Information System, automatically, transferring vital signs data. Nurses will no longer spend precious time taking vitals manually and then entering them into the chart.
Benefits include:
Comprehensive data collection. Includes Flexport data from peripheral devices such as ventilators and IV pumps.
Automatic entry of vital signs into your CIS. Complete, fast, accurate.
HL7 compliant. Rapid, reliable implementation.
Connect to your HIS with "ADT Interface"
The ADT Interface collects admission, discharge, and transfer information over the hospital network and stores it in the Intesys Clinical Suite's database. ADT data complements other applications in the suite with the most current patient information.
Benefits include:
ADT Interface saves time. When admitting a patient to a monitor, enter just one number into the admit screen and the other patient fields fill in automatically.
Data entry errors are reduced.
In-depth patient information. Admission information is readily available without searching in other systems.
