The Battery
Protection PCM is essential to the safety and performance of a battery pack, to Protect the cells or the battery from damage, Prolong the life of the battery, Maintain the battery’s health to meet the requirements of the applications
The ability of the PCM to perform the following functions depends on customers’ requirements:
- monitoring individual cell voltages
- monitoring the pack temperature
- measuring the pack voltage
- measuring the current flow (when charging/discharging)
- calculating the state of charge (SOC), the state of health (SOH)
- balancing individual cells
- communicating BMS data to the applications (via SMBus /CANBus)
- disconnecting the battery when necessary
Applications:
Medical Technology: portable diagnostic devices, medical carts, ventilators, pumps, ultrasound systems, blood pressure monitoring
Industrial Devices: radios, scanners, industrial tablet, life detectors, snow removal
Video Devices: LED flashlight, cordless phone, camera, safety alarm
