Bruno Landesberg founded The Southern Marketing Company Ltd. in 1958 and Sano Bruno's Enterprises Ltd. in 1965.
He is the chairman to this day. Sano has been steadily expanding, establishing new plants for aerosols, paper products, hygienic products, and cleaning products. Sano has been listed publicly on The Tel Aviv Stock Exchange since 1982. Sano has about 1, 000 direct and indirect employees.

Sano invests heavily in research and development of new products and improving product lines, including through use of automation and robotics. In 1985, Sano was one of the first companies in the world to stop using freon gas, which damages the ozone layer. Sano's sales and profits have been rising steadily for over a decade. It posted a net profit of NIS 83.1 million on NIS 856.7 million sales for 2006, compared with a net profit of NIS 59.6 million on NIS 779.1 million turnover for 2005. Its market capitalization is over $200 million. Exports account for 4% of total sales.
